Boston has four Amtrak stations: the South Station at Atlantic Ave. and Summer St.; the Back Bay Station at 145 Dartmouth St.; the North Station at 135 Causeway St.at Canal; and the Route 128 Station at University Ave. and Route 128. Trains that are routed through these stations include the Acela Express, which travels from Boston's South Station (and Back Bay and Route 128 stations) to Washington D.C.; The Federal which travels through the same Boston stations as the Acela Express and also goes to Washington D.C.; the Lake Shore Limited, traveling from Chicago through the Back Bay and South Stations to New York's Penn Station; The Regional, traveling from Boston's South Station (through the Back Bay and Route 128 stations) to Newport News, VA; and the Downeaster, traveling from Boston's North Station to Portland, ME.
