  • Falls Church - this small city can trace its beginning back to the late 1600s when it was a colonial settlement, located at the intersection of two Indian trails that lead to the falls on the Potomac River that gave the town its name. Its history is a rich tapestry of ancient Native American peoples and early colonial settlers. Its present and future are defined by its proximity to Washington D.C.

  • Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport - Located in Arlington on Arlington Dr. (GW Parkway).
  • Washington Dulles International Airport - Located at 45020 Aviation Dr., Sterling VA. This airport is west of D.C. proper.
  • Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro)- Falls Church West and Falls Church East Metro, or subway, stations are located at the east and west ends of the city.

ATTRACTIONS

  • Erwin House - built in 1893, this is one of the most elaborate of the late Victorian houses in Falls Church. The property includes a small barn which was used for delivery horses for bakery.
  • The Falls Church - listed with the National Register of Historic Places. The first church on the site was a wooden structure built in 1733. Architect James Wren designed the current, brick Falls Church, which was built between 1767 and 1769. Located at Fairfax and South Washington Sts.
  • Cherry Hill Farmhouse and Barn - circa 1845, these structures were once was the center of a farm known as are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Free tours are available Saturdays from 10am - 2:00pm spring through October. Located at 312 Park Ave
  • DePutron House - Located at 508 Lincoln Ave.
    at Great Falls St. This 1893 two story, red brick Victorian is known for the skilled workmanship with which is was made, particularly evident in the brickwork in the arches over the windows.

RECREATION AND SPORTS

  • Jefferson District Park Golf Course - this 9-hole golf course is 2,298 Yds., Par 35. Other attractions in this park include attractions include lighted miniature golf, tennis and basketball courts and picnic facilities. Located at 7900 Lee Hwy.
  • Walking Tour of Falls Church - this walking tour passes many of the historic Victorian homes of falls Church, including Cherry Hills.
